Rainforest in Mexico

This rainforest in Mexico provides a temporary home for over 125 species of migratory birds. Every year these birds undertake an incredible migration from the United States to the Yucatan Peninsula, which is on the eastern side of Mexico, where they find refuge for the winter.

In fact, a full two-thirds of the songbirds in the United States spend their winters at least partly south of the border, so if we want to be confident that you will hear and see these birds in our backyards, we have to work south of the border in places like Mexican rainforests.
